i have entries in a table which each contain a "ranking" or "sequence" integer. imagine, for example, a table full of a user's favorite weather forecast locations. the user should be able to change the order in which those favorites appear for viewing by changing the ranking/sequence variables.

obviously it is very annoying to have to change all of them to reorder the list! is there a way to have a button or link which would do a "move this item up in ranking" function or "move this item down in ranking" function, with the table then updated?

this seems like it is probably possibly but beyond me. i am hoping someone has done it and can point me to an example.

thanks for any guidance!

the easiest way is see is to make sql query, depending on the order or id variable, which will plus all order below (or something similar).

for pme configuration, all you need is to create a html link pointing to the same page and trigger it with the sql query.
