The phrase “
Click here
” is still widely used, but is it really effective? While it may seem clear, it lacks context and can confuse users—especially those using screen readers. From an SEO standpoint, it’s also a missed opportunity.
Search engines rely on anchor text to understand page content, and “Click here” tells them nothing. Instead, use descriptive links like “Read our full guide” or “Explore pricing options.”
These help users and improve rankings. While “Click here” isn’t harmful in small doses, smarter link text offers better usability and SEO benefits in the long run.
