I installed the patch to do file upload (see http://opensource.platon.sk/projects/bug_view_advanced_page.php?f_bug_id=29 ).

It doesn't seem to work when the mce_cal extension is present.

Is there a way to correct this?

I'm not surprised it doesn#t work. mce_cal overrides the field display routines in the main PME class, so even if you apply the patch the patches will be ignored.

In theory you should be able to fix it by applying the patches to the functions in the mce_cal extension however I would be very surprised if the patch files work as the base code has changed. I'm sure you could hand-apply the updates if your PHP is good enough.

I can see this type of issue becoming a bigger and bigger problem over time as people want more and more field types. I've been thinking about ways of creating a way of having pluggable field types - so you could add field types without overriding other changes. Don't have an answer yet, but it would solve this problem.

There is another solution to the problems though...go and look at the iManager plug-in for TinyMCE. This would allow you to upload a file and store the HTML link to it in a textarea. You could restrict the option on TinyMCE for that field so that the only option available is image upload if you want to do that.

I think that would allow you to do the same thing, just in a slightly different way.

Thanks ajh,

I have yet another problem. I also use subform with tab and this feature also seems to conflict with mce_cal extension.

I will work around the extension by using "exact" mode of TinyMCE (and hard code the list of elements).

Could you give me some more details of what you are trying to do? mce_cal should work with tabs generally, but if you are trying to use the new subforms functionality in the CVS it is possible that I need to re-implement the extension on the latest version of the CVS. Which PME options exactly are you using?

I am using v 1.167 with file upload patch.

I concurrently need to use:

    tab
    subform
    file upload
    tiny_mce

Upload and tiny_mce fail to work (with no error though) when extension is present.

I can confirm that if you modify the MCE cal extension with the necessary fileupload lines of code it all works fine.
