Hello,

Is there an easy way to change the behaviour of a 'before' trigger so that its failure doesn't return the user to the list view, but to the same insert/update form again? Preferably, with the previous values in it? I have a case where I have to check a condition in the database that doesn't even really depend on the values entered by the user, so I need a way to implement a "not possible at the moment, please try again" functionality. Returning without a word to the list is very confusing for the users, not to mention time wasted retyping the same values when trying again.

I'll appreciate any help or hints, TIA,

have a look at http://opensource.platon.sk/forum/projects/viewtopic.php?t=150&highlight=trigger

generally, for add mode, it is easy, for change mode it is hard.

Thanks for the info, I'll look into the topic.
