Using URL and URLtarget requires me to open a page and then in that page open another and close the previous just to have a small customised window.
I am adding new feature to the class... Javascript onClick option.
Anyone see a need for this?

Certainly, but are you speaking of link clic events (basic url 'javascript:foo()', or are you speaking of field clic events ?

I am talking about link click events; <a href="#" onClick='javascript:foo();'>
I read thru onlin doc and faq but didnt find anything similar to what I needed so I add to the script...
'URL' => '#',
'URLonClick' => 'javascript;popup( blah blah blah );'
now it is possible to directly popup a customised window providing "popup" function is added to the generated phpMyEdit script for the table.
Is that a hack job you think?

What's the difference with :
'URL' => 'javascript:popup( blah blah blah );'
which should work...

Apparently thats the old style, non compliant to html 4... may cause issues with some browser.

Do you have a link for this ?
This is how current tab switch is done inside PME.
the $opts['fdd']['foo']['js']['onClick'] seems a right API to me.
You may report a feature request inthe bugtracker.

but it is not definative nor did it says "non-compliance". Do you know of any issue with javascript in href?
