Since I always use the same changes for the basic information (database info, number of rows to show, display options), I would love to have an option of generating code that reads this in instead of having it specified in every file.
Any chance of this feature getting in?

But that would require manual changes to every generated file. The whole point of PME is making life easier, right? So having it as an option is a lot better.

doug, thanks for the reply and idea. I'm thinking it over but my first response is that when v5.5 (or whatever) comes out, the hack will be overwritten. In the short term your answer is a good one but my preference would still be to add this option. I really don't see that it would be much work (the parse_ini_file function should do much of it) and it just adds another level of power and flexibility to PME.
