Hi,

I receive this errormessage when I'm try to change a data record via phpMyEdit:
Code:

Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 8388608 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 35 bytes) in /opt//ampp/htdocs/ordner/phpMyEdit.class.php on line 681

Can anyone tell me the reason for this error?
When I try to display the data record it works fine, but changing is not possible.

Best Regards, Mo

I have a similar error message, which I can not figure out to save my soul.... The error message appeared after loading the table. I am working with datasets that can exceed 60MB or more.

Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 8388608 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 4008810 bytes) in /opt/lampp/htdocs/phpMyEdit-5.5/phpMyEdit.class.php on line 1751

this means pme is consuming too much memory. make it consume less, or change apache settings
limit $opts['inc'] to lower number (not -1, but like 20)
limit number of columns (to 10 lets say) and slowly increase

limit $opts['inc'] to lower number (not -1, but like 20) ...did it! Thank you. I come back when I might have further questions.

Hi,

I set $opts['inc'] = 10 and I'm still getting this error:

Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 8388608 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 35 bytes) in /include/phpMyEdit/phpMyEdit.class.php on line 1921

There are about 4.2 million records in the table.

Any suggestions?

Thank you

Hi Doug,

That works like a champ! The page loads really quick.
Thank you for your assistance.

I also tried to increase the memory_limit to 128M on the php page which solves the problem; however, it takes a while to load the page.

Thanks again.
