I’m still skeptical that a bracket-style
Curtis Samuel Color Rush Jersey
, made-for-TV 40-yard dash event will actually happen, because I can’t imagine NFL teams being thrilled with players under contract risking a pulled hamstring or worse less than a month before camp. But 40 Yards of Gold is still pushing forward. It’s due to happen on June 29. Via John Ourand of , the event can be seen on TV for $39.95.The 16-participant
Daeshon Hall Jersey
, 15-race event will be held at the BB&T Center in Sunrise, Florida. Players who have committed include 49ers receiver Marquise Goodwin, Saints receiver Ted Ginn Jr.
Trai Turner Color Rush Jersey
, Saints running back Alvin Kamara, Jets receiver Robby Anderson, Vikings cornerback Trae Waynes
Taylor Moton Jersey
, Panthers cornerback Donte Jackson, and Washington cornerback Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie.The final roster of racers omits Bears running back Tarik Cohen, Ravens running back Mark Ingram
Wes Horton Color Rush Jersey
, Cardinals safety Budda Baker, Giants receiver Corey Coleman, and Titans safety Kevin Byard. Each previously were touted as participants in the event. There’s a good chance that each has heard from his current NFL team that it’s not a good idea to engage in a series of all-out
Stephen Curry Jersey
, head-to-head sprints so close to the launch of preseason practice. Update (1:13 p.m. ET) - Defensive end Marquis Haynes has been added to the injury report after missing practice with an illness and has been ruled out for tomorrow night’s game. The Panthers aren’t 100% confident in whether or not center Ryan Kalil will be ready to go in time for their Thursday Night Football game against the Steelers tomorrow, so he has been officially declared as a game time decision according to Ron Rivera. If Kalil is unable to play, Tyler Larsen would start in his place.Torrey Smith will once again be out for Carolina
Shaq Thompson Color Rush Jersey
, but Rivera is confident that the other guys who are listed as questionable—Eric Reid, David Mayo and Mario Addison—will be able to play tomorrow night.Hopefully those three guys will be able to play, since the Panthers are already at a slight disadvantage from having to make a road trip on a short week against a quality opponent. Having a stack of injuries makes coming home with a win that much harder
Kawann Short Jersey
, and a more difficult path to victory is something the 6-2 Panthers would prefer to avoid.
