I am trying to figure out how to get the 'key field to actualy show in the results. At the moment it is hidden and I do not know why. My key field is called ID and here is the configuration I have (which is the default using the installer)

$opts['fdd']['id'] = array(
'name' => 'ID',
'select' => 'T',
'options' => 'AVCPDR', // auto increment
'maxlen' => 6,
'default' => '0',
'sort' => true
);

No matter what options I try, the ID column will not show in the table. ALL other fields work properly. It is only the key field that will not display.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Thanks for the quick reply Doug.

I had tried that but it did not help. In fact I have tried removing all the options and the key column will still not show. I believe the R option controls the Read Only status, not its hide status.

The key (id) field does display fine in the View, Edit, Change view for a specific record. It is only the List view (show all records), where the display is missing.

Any other ideas how to get this field to show?

Thanks

Usage of R applies to input (not to options).

Regenerate the form after making a backup copy of the file your working on.

Thanks Doug,

But I do not think I understand what you mean by regenerate the form. If I run phpMyEditSetup.php again on the same table, I will get exactly the same result, that includes the hidden ID field.

There must an option in the configuration that his hiding this field from view, but I cannot find it.

I have run this on several table and all have the exact result. If I have a simple table with two fields, ID and name (for example), when I view the page phpMyEditSetup creats, only the name field (column) is visible. However, if I edit or view a record, the ID field is there.

It shows in all views except the main view.

I hope this describes the problem better.

Thanks

Try this:

Code:
'options' => 'ACPVDFL',

You have to add the option
L
to
'options' => 'LAVCPDR',

Thank you doug and stanneo. Perfect. Don't know how I missed that option in the docs. I really appreciate your help.

Thank you.
